Moondance by Van Morrison: Well, it's a marvelous night for a moondance
With the stars up above in your eyes.
I was going to continue the research on “fine art” in this blog but was stopped dead by the moon. I do look at the moon most nights before I go to bed. I do get excited about the changes and events that happen with that gorgeous orb in our sky. I do enjoy the show.
Last night the moon was bright, huge, spectacular and 223,000 miles closer to me than it has been for a year. I do not fancy myself a photographer, but I love to try. I took photos. I tried to find reference points because the brightness of the moon created a halo which was not visible to my eye. So, I happily felt like a pagan and danced around my yard with my Canon to photograph it. I thought of the phrase “I love you to the moon and back.” My cat followed me around the yard, waiting to go inside for her snack.
I was excited about getting up at 3 am, putting my lawn chair in a place where I would have a panoramic view of what would come, cuddled in my coat with my Canon watching and waiting. The moon is going to be spectacular and it was my honor to behold.
I did go outside at 3 am. To my dismay fog is thick in the California sky. The moon is trying so hard to penetrate the vapors in the sky but the view is far from spectacular. I am not disappointed, I am not frustrated. It’s life, and it’s the way it’s supposed to be right now in my world. No blue moon or blood moon or eclipse for me and my Canon. I did get this shot that I do like using a tree for reference and a filter while the moon was 223,000 closer. I am happy to have it.
