I danced with the moon again. I call this photo Peace. It is available in the photo tab on my website www.artbycadams.com.
I know when I look at the moon that someone somewhere is doing the same thing I am. For me it's a calm way to think about the world, like a companion to keep you from stepping off the edge. She laughs at me silently, gently and without judgement.
I lost my white dove, Peace, last week. We used to have a feral cat problem. Peace was about to be breakfast for a circle of cats so I picked her up and brought her into the house. I didn't think Peace would make it 30 days.
Peace used to dance with me. I sat on the kitchen floor with her and she danced around my finger, jumped onto my wrist and laughed at me. She rode on my shoulder before she began to projectile wherever she wanted. She finally enjoyed her baths in tepid water with a bit of Listerine in it to keep the mites down.
She moved twice with me. She kept me humble. She got sick a few times but we worked to make her better. I do miss her. I made some mistakes with her, but she didn't know. I can't believe she lived with me for 15 years. I'm lucky to have had her as my friend.
She is buried in the backyard. She is the reason I was outside to visit with the moon to get this photo.
